Crestor® should only be taken once daily in the morning. The recommended dose is 40 mg once a day. Crestor® is not recommended for patients who are taking any other medications, such as statins.
Crestor® can have side effects, including:
Patients with a prior history of a liver problem, or who have already had a liver transplant, should not take Crestor®.
Patients with a history of anemia or an inherited blood disorder should not take Crestor®.

Crestor® should not be used in patients with kidney disease, as it can increase the risk of nephrotoxicity and decrease the amount of Crestor® in the body. Patients should be monitored closely for signs of a decreased kidney function.
Crestor® can cause kidney problems in some patients. Patients should be advised to contact their doctor right away if they experience any signs of kidney problems. Crestor® should not be used if you are already taking certain medications, such as diuretics or ACE inhibitors, as they can increase the risk of developing kidney problems.
Patients should be monitored closely for signs of kidney problems. Crestor® should not be used if you are also taking a blood thinner, such as warfarin or clopidogrel, as it can increase the risk of developing kidney problems.
